Pedestrian struck, airlifted to UK Hospital

A pedestrian was airlifted on Wednesday to University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington after being struck by a vehicle on the South Danville Bypass, police said.
Danville Police were dispatched at 12:21 a.m. to the area of 3795 South Danville Bypass for a report of an injury accident involving a pedestrian. Police say Allen Stroud, 80, was crossing the bypass when he was struck by a 2018 Chevrolet pickup driven by Amanda Luttrell of Hustonville.
Stroud was treated at the scene by Boyle County EMS and transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center before being flown to UK.
The investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when it is available. The Danville Fire Department assisted.
