Nancy Ellen Leedy, 62, of Stanford, KY passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY. Born on February 12, 1960 in Carlisle, KY to “Coach” Bill Ed Leedy and the late Geraldine “Jerry” Hoskins Leedy. Nancy graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1978 and later graduated with a Bachelors Degree from EKU. Nancy was dedicated to her career and passionate about her community with 32 years of service as photographer, sportswriter and editor for the Interior Journal Newspaper from 1988-2020. Nancy was currently employed at the Office of County Attorney, Daryl Day.
Survivors include her father, “Coach” Bill Ed Leedy of Stanford; one brother, Eddie Leedy (Kelly) of Lexington, KY; three sisters, Mary Jo Baker of Richmond, KY; Carol Ann Ferguson (Andy) of Preachersville, KY and Sandy Reyes (Robert) of Berea, KY; seven nieces and nephews, Ragan Knuckles (John), Erin Reesman (David), Jared Leedy (Erin), Sidney Hatcher (Casey), Will Baker (Aubrey), Jessie Ferguson and Laura Ferguson; ten great nieces and nephews, Hunter, Alex, Logan, Landon, Quinn, Kirra, Rory, Easton, Ridge and Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine “Jerry” Hoskins Leedy; and niece, Jenny Goggin.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
