Stanford departments report July activity

STANFORD – The Stanford Fire Department responded to 73 incidents during the month of July, according to a report given to the Stanford City Council.
From July 1 to July 31, SFD responded to the following incidents:
• Passenger vehicle fire – 2
• Medical assist, assist EMS crew – 19
• EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury – 23
• Motor vehicle accident with injuries – 2
• Motor vehicle accident with no injuries – 3
• Water & ice-related rescue, other – 1
• Watercraft rescue – 1
• Gas Leak (natural gas or LPG) – 2
• Power line down – 1
• Vehicle accident, general clean up – 4
• Public service assistance, other – 2
• Assist police or other governmental agency – 1
• Unauthorized burning – 1
• Dispatched & cancelled en route – 2
• Authorized controlled burning – 2
• Smoke scare, odor of smoke – 1
• Alarm system sounded due to malfunction – 2
• Special type of incident, other – 2
• Citizen complaint – 2
The Stanford Police Department made a total of 21 arrests during the month of July, according to the monthly report.
SPD reported 987 contacts through 911 and officers wrote 207 citations. There were 63 warnings given and a total of 20 accidents reported in July.
Officers Ray Sayre and Jeremy Garrison completed 40 hours of resiliency training through the Department of Criminal Justice Training. The entire department completed two hours of roll call training.
Stanford Code Enforcement granted one porch/deck permit in July and one certificate of occupancy.
One plat was reviewed and 40 business licenses were issued or renewed in July.
