Alissa Lee Francis Horseman, 73, of Stanford, passed away on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington. Born on July 10, 1950 in Stanford to the late Cabell D. And Helen Juanita Carroll Francis, Alissa dedicated her life to the care and love of both her family and the minds of countless young students. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and teacher, Alissa’s legacy is one of love, education and faith. She was an inspiration in our community having devoted 27 years of her life to education. She taught at Stanford Elementary and Lincoln County High School before her well-earned retirement.
Survivors include her husband, David Horseman, of Stanford; two sons, David Horseman, Jr. (Cindy) and Kelly Horseman (Allison); five grandchildren, Molly Browning, Ryan Browning, Ian Horseman, Lydia Horseman and Aaron Horseman; one brother, Cabell D. Francis II; one brother-in-law, Greg Russell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cabell and Helen Francis; and two sisters, Margaret Seifert-Russell and Debbie Francis.
A one-day service was held at Stanford Christian Church on Oct. 17. Burial followed at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers were David Horseman Jr., Kelly Horseman, Ian Horseman, Cabell David Francis, Francis, Andrew Francis and Andrew Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers were the elders and deacons of Stanford Christian Church, Ronnie Horseman and Barry Wigglesworth.
