Scott Taylor, 66, of Stanford, KY passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Born on December 23, 1956 in Stanford, KY to the late Anita Killen Taylor. He was a graduate of Crab Orchard High School, Class of 1974, which was the last class to graduate. He worked for Phillip’s Lighting before his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, loved to fish, hunt, shoot guns, tell tall tales and running beagles. Scott loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He cherished the time he was able to spend with them. He attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Melanie White Taylor of Stanford; two children, Jason Taylor (Brittany) of Lancaster, KY and Kristen Terrell (Hamilton) of Taylors, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Landon Taylor, Grayson Taylor, Edith Terrell and Eleanor Terrell; three siblings, Joan Johnson of Louisville, KY, Ronald Taylor of Cincinnati, OH and Jerry Taylor of Dayton, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Taylor; one brother, Travis Taylor; and two nephews, Dana McLaughlin and Noel Taylor.
A one-day service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be form 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Bro. Shelby Hopkins officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
