Mr. James Daniel Hacker Sr. husband of Neville Burton Hacker passed away at University of Kentucky Hospital April 9th, 2024.
James was born December 17, 1942, in Brodhead KY to the late Daniel Hacker and Kelsie Holcomb Hacker. James served his country in the United States Navy from December 21, 1961, to December 20, 1967. After leaving the Navy he married the love of his life Neville Burton on December 30, 1967, and from that marriage came six children.
James was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church in Crab Orchard Ky. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, cookouts, sport shooting, tinkering, and spending time with family. He was a member of Sportsman’s Club of Ceder Creek and Lincoln County VFW post 345.
James is survived by his wife Neville Hacker, five children: Wanda Gail Messer (Scott) of Brodhead, Lisa Lenora Rogers of Crab Orchard, James Daniel Hacker Jr. (Stephanie) of Crab Orchard, Kelly Elizabeth Denney of Brodhead, and Christina Eyvonne Pavon (Miguel) of Brodhead. Eleven grandchildren; Rusty Benge, Sara Barrett, Chris Benge, Josh Benge, John York, Nikki Cromer, James Douglas Hacker, Jessie Daniel Hacker, Jakob Ethan Mink, Kayliegh Arabella Mink, and Aiden Michael Pavon. Seventeen great- grandchildren.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a child Arther Wayne Benge, and three grandchildren Jeffrey Shivel, Rachel Shivel and Elizabeth Sinner. Three sisters Loretta Lynn Hacker, Eyvonne Walton, and Geneva Hacker. One son in law Dwayne Denney.
Visitation for James Hacker will be Friday, April 12 from 5-8 PM and the Marvin E. Owens Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 13 at 11 AM with Bros, Dan Gutenson and Danny England officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove cemetery with military honors. Fellowship meal will be held at Watts Chapel Crab Orchard.
