SFD responds to 80 incidents in June

The Stanford Fire Department (SFD) responded to 80 incidents during the month of June, according to a monthly report provided to the Stanford City Council.
From June 1 to June 30, SFD responded to the following incidents:
- Building fire – 1
- Medical assist, assist EMS crew – 6
- EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury – 38
- Motor vehicle accident with injuries – 1
- Rescue or EMS standby – 1
- Gas leak (natural gas or LPG) – 2
- Oil or other combustible liquid spill – 2
- Electrical wiring/equipment problem, other – 1
- Public service assistance, other – 1
- Assist invalid – 2
- Unauthorized burning – 2
- Dispatched & canceled en route – 8
- No incident found on arrival at dispatch address – 1
- Authorized controlled burning – 7
- Steam, vapor, fog or dust thought to be smoke – 1
- CO detector activation due to malfunction – 1
- Alarm system activation, no fire – unintentional – 1
- Special type of incident, other – 4
Stanford Code Enforcement gave 50 verbal warnings during the month of June.
Code Enforcement reported five violations for the month and issued one citation.
Three building permits and two sign permits were issued, as well as one porch/deck permit.
There were four certificates of occupancy reported for the month.
Stanford Code Enforcement issued or renewed 107 business licenses in June.
June was a busy month for law enforcement as the Stanford Police Department reported 820 contacts through 911.
SPD officers wrote 133 citations and gave 57 warnings. There were 15 arrests made and 42 incidents/cases reported.
Officers responded to a total of 15 accidents in June.
