The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) presented the cities of Hustonville and Eubank with 2024 Safety Grants. 

The money helps KLC members provide services and programs that create safer communities. Since 1999, KLC has awarded more than $6.5 million in liability and safety grants to its members.

“The City of Hustonville wants to express our gratitude for the Workers’ Compensation Safety Grant and to KLC,” Mayor Tim Smith said. “With the generous grant, we will be able to provide personal protective equipment for our utility workers. This will help tremendously in providing a safe work environment for our employees and providing water services to our community. We want to thank KLC for this opportunity and for allowing us to make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.”

“Providing these grants is just one way the Kentucky League of Cities partners with our members to help their communities with safety initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people who live and work in our cities,” KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney said.

Eubank city representatives expressed their appreciation for the grant. Officials purchased work zone safety signs and cones with the funds. 

KLC Insurance is the commonwealth’s largest municipal insurance program. The agency helps members increase public safety with proactive programs and services. KLC insurance provides affordable liability, property, workers’ compensation, and other municipal insurance products.

“The Kentucky League of Cities proudly provides safety grants to its members,” Chaney said. “Cities are the economic engines of Kentucky, and we are pleased to help them run as smoothly and safely as possible.”

The Kentucky League of Cities also offers employee benefits programs, legislative advocacy, financial and municipal law services, training, community development, and other resources that serve cities.
