A 12-year-old boy was airlifted from the scene of an ATV accident in Crab Orchard Sunday evening.
Crab Orchard Fire Department Chief Larry Owsley said two young boys were riding four-wheelers in a field behind the local bank when one lost control and wrecked.
It was about 7 p.m. when first responders were called to the scene.
“Evidently they were riding down there, where they put in the gas line it’s all cleared out now…he was riding the four-wheeler and evidently lost control of it or something and it threw him off. He didn’t have a helmet on or anything,” Owsley said.
The boy was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Owsley said according to the boy’s mother his jaw was broken and his body was bruised but he was not in life-threatening condition as of Monday.
Along with COFD, Lincoln County EMS, AirEvac Lifeteam 56 – Danville, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Constable Mike Mullins assisted on scene.
