Man who stole truck, ran over sister’s legs indicted by grand jury

A man who stole his sister’s truck, ran over her legs and led law enforcement on a pursuit into a neighboring county has been indicted by a Lincoln County grand jury.
Sherrill “Chemo” Padgett, 58, of Waynesburg, was arrested on Aug. 17 by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies on several charges. He was originally charged with attempted murder.
Padgett arrived at his sister’s residence intoxicated, took control of her truck and ran over her legs before fleeing to Pulaski County.
Kim Yocum received injuries to her legs and toes and the truck door and fender was damaged. Padgett was later taken into custody in Pulaski County. He allegedly admitted to using methamphetamine that day.
A Lincoln County grand jury indicted Padgett on Oct. 11 on one count of carjacking and one count of second-degree assault.

The following people were indicted by a Lincoln County grand jury on Oct. 11:
• Ricky L. Bowen, 62, of Stanford: on June 26, 2024, one count of trafficking in a controlled substance (Hydrocodone pills); one count of trafficking in marijuana (over eight ounces, less than five pounds); one count of cultivating marijuana plants (over five plants); and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $15,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 22. Deputy Tyler Whitworth testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Logan W. Johnson, 26, of Crab Orchard: on July 23, 2024, one count of trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl); one count of trafficking in a controlled substance (more than four grams of cocaine); and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance (10 or more dosage units of Oxycodone). Bond was set at $25,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 8. Lt. Michael Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Anthony D. Taylor, 36, of Stanford: on July 30, 2023, one count of operating a motor vehicle under the influence (fourth offense); one count of possession of drug paraphernalia (rolling papers); one count of tampering with physical evidence; one count of operating motor vehicle while license suspended or revoked; and one count of theft by unlawful taking by taking property belonging to Selena smith of a value of under $1,000. Bond was set at $10,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 22. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Matthew S. Fletcher, 32, of Stanford: on May 27, 2023, one count of first-degree strangulation. Bond was set at $10,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 8. Lt. Michael Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Dylan R. Boynton, 36, of Stanford: in May, 2024, one count of second-degree assault by intentionally hitting/striking a minor with a dangerous instrument. Bond was set at $25,000. • Michael G. Coy, 46, of Waynesburg: on Jan. 2, 2024, one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Bond was set at $5,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 8. Deputy Tyler Whitworth testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Theophilus A. Thompson, 24, of Crab Orchard: on March 16, 2023, one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Bond was set at $5,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 22. Lt. Michael Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Randall S. Strunk, 37, of Hustonville: on June 24, 2023, one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count possession of drug paraphernalia (smoking pipes); and one count of tampering with physical evidence. • Myma P. Gilpin, 46, of Crab Orchard: on June 23, 2023, one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence; one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); possession of drug paraphernalia (glass pipe); and one count of reckless driving. Bond was set at $5,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 22. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• Tabita N. Klop, 41, of Stanford: on May 13, 2023, one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); one count of possession of drug paraphernalia (glass pipe); one count of second-degree burglary by entering or remaining unlawfully in the home of Misty and Greg Snow with the intent to commit a crime; and one count of theft by unlawful taking by taking property belonging to Misty and Greg Snow of a value over $1,000. Bond was set at $10,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Nov. 8. Deputy Ron Luster testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
• David A. Price, 45, of Harrodsburg: on Sept. 25, 2024, one count of first-degree bail jumping. Bond was set at $5,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Oct. 25. Norma Atwood testified for the Lincoln County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
