Lincoln County saw a voter turnout of 59.14% in Tuesday’s election, with 11,116 ballots cast from a pool of 18,796 registered voters. Here’s a closer look at the top finishers in key local, state, and federal races.
In the City Commissioner race for Crab Orchard, Mike Eldridge led with 179 votes (23%), followed closely by Anthony “Tony” Shelton with 172 votes (23%). Kenny Manuel took third with 138 votes (18%).
In Eubank’s City Commissioner race, Curtis G. Todd and Kenny Upchurch each received three votes (30%), while David E. Shivel and Iris Todd each garnered two votes (20%).
For the Hustonville City Council, Jimmy Lane topped the results with 99 votes (16%), followed by Richard W. Cooper with 87 votes (14%) and Alan Sims with 84 votes (13%).
In Stanford’s City Council race, incumbents led the vote totals. Jerry G. Wilkinson received the most votes with 836 (19%), followed by Ronnie Deatherage with 774 (18%) and Bill Miracle with 745 (17%).
The Lincoln County Board of Education saw several unopposed victories:
•1st Educational District: Tyler McGuffey ran unopposed and won with 1,344 votes (100%).
•3rd Educational District: Jennifer Broadbent also ran unopposed, securing her seat with 1,192 votes (100%).
•4th Educational District: In a close race, Lisa Ann Gillem narrowly led with 774 votes against Gloria Sneed, who received 772 votes.
•5th Educational District: Phillip Coots claimed 1,158 votes (60%), defeating Etta S. Meek, who received 759 votes (40%).
In state races, Republican Brandon J. Storm ran unopposed for the 21st Senatorial District and won with 9,166 votes (100%). David Meade, also unopposed, won the 80th Representative District with 9,368 votes (100%).
In Lincoln County judicial races, Commonwealth’s Attorney David L. Dalton ran unopposed and secured his position with 9,151 votes (100%), while Angelia Renee Doolin also ran unopposed for Circuit Court Clerk, winning with 9,323 votes (100%).
On the ballot measures, Lincoln County voters showed strong support for Constitutional Amendment 1, with 7,258 votes in favor (70%) and 3,062 against (30%). Constitutional Amendment 2 was rejected, with 6,553 “No” votes (61%) and 4,263 “Yes” votes (39%).
In the Presidential race, Lincoln County voters overwhelmingly favored the Republican ticket of Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance, who garnered 8,833 votes (80%). Kamala D. Harris and Tim Walz received 2,080 votes (19%), and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. trailed with 75 votes (1%).
U.S. Representative for the 5th Congressional District: Republican Hal Rogers ran unopposed and received strong support with 9,497 votes, ensuring his continued representation for the district.
