The Lincoln County softball team continued its strong spring stretch by winning three of four games between April 14–18. Dominant pitching, aggressive baserunning, and disciplined at-bats helped the Lady Pats earn convincing victories over Danville Christian, Berea, and Danville, while a tough third inning proved costly in a loss to Rockcastle County.
Price shines in shutout over Danville Christian
Trinity Price delivered one of her best outings of the season on April 14, throwing a complete-game one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as Lincoln cruised past Danville Christian 7-0.
Lincoln took control in the second inning. Madison Carpenter forced a fielder’s choice that resulted in two runs, and Madison Cassidy added an RBI single to extend the lead.
Price didn’t allow a hit until the middle innings and kept the visitors off balance all game long, issuing just two walks over seven scoreless frames.
Raelee Lawson and Halle Siler each had two hits, with Lawson also driving in two runs from the nine spot in the order. The Lady Pats showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks and finishing with 10 hits.
Siler’s big day leads rout of Berea
Halle Siler powered Lincoln past Berea 12-1 on April 15 with a four-RBI performance that included a two-run single, a third-inning RBI base hit, and a bases-clearing double in the fifth.
Cassidy was lights out in the circle, striking out 14 batters while allowing just one hit and one earned run across seven innings.
Lincoln scored early and often, beginning with a groundout RBI by Cassidy in the first. Lawson walked in a run during the second before Hailee Elmore brought another home with a groundout. Siler and Lawson continued the rally in the third to make it 5-1, and the game was out of reach by the fifth.
Cassidy collected two hits and Lawson walked three times. Siler also swiped three of the team’s six stolen bases in the win.
Costly inning sinks Lady Pats against Rockcastle
Lincoln got off to a quick start on April 17 but couldn’t maintain the momentum in an 11-2 loss to Rockcastle County.
The Lady Pats took a 2-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a walk from Elmore and a pair of fielding miscues. But Rockcastle responded with five runs in the top of the third, capitalizing on two errors to seize the lead.
Price pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits and six earned runs while walking four and striking out three.
Cassidy paced the offense with two hits, while Elmore added an RBI and drew three of the team’s seven walks. Lincoln stole five bases and turned a double play in the field but couldn’t recover from the decisive third inning.
First-inning explosion fuels win over Danville
Lincoln responded quickly from the loss, exploding for 13 runs in the first inning on April 18 in a dominant 21-3 win over Danville.
The Lady Pats took advantage of erratic pitching, drawing 19 walks and getting hit by pitches twice with the bases loaded. They scored six additional runs in the third without recording a hit, capitalizing on wild pitches and defensive errors.
Cassidy earned the win, striking out six and allowing one earned run over three innings. Lawson, Madison Wilshire, and Madilyn Wade each had one hit, while four players—including Lawson and Raegan Dagley—drove in two runs apiece. Lincoln added five stolen bases to round out the rout.
