Lincoln County put together a strong three-game stretch from April 16-19, winning two of three and snapping a multi-year losing streak against a district rival in the process. Fueled by timely hitting and strong performances on the mound, the Bat Pats appear to be finding their rhythm as the season progresses.
Foster powers historic win over Garrard County
Lincoln snapped a four-year skid against district foe Garrard County with a 7-4 victory, marking the first time the Pats had defeated their rival since 2019.
Tucker Foster led the charge, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a two-run homer. He also earned the win on the mound, striking out five and allowing two earned runs over three innings.
Lincoln wasted no time getting on the board. The top of the order ignited a four-run first inning with doubles from Sawyer Robbins, Brennin Hazlett, and Grady Foster, followed by a bases-loaded walk drawn by Trevor Vest.
Foster’s home run to left field in the fourth inning extended the lead, and Hazlett came in late to secure the save. Parker Hart added two hits, and the Pats turned a double play to help close out the win.
Offense erupts in slugfest loss to Jackson County
Despite racking up 12 hits and 11 runs, Lincoln fell short in an 18-11 shootout against Jackson County.
The Pats opened the scoring in the second inning on a two-run single by Landon Smith. Tucker Foster added four RBIs, while Robbins, Smith, Hart, and Jack Smith each collected two hits.
Lincoln’s offense kept the game within reach, but a pair of big innings from the opponent proved too much to overcome. Vest took the loss after allowing seven runs in just over an inning.
Carrier’s complete game leads Pats past Southwestern
Lincoln capped off the week with a bounce-back 6-3 win over Southwestern, powered by a complete-game effort from Caleb Carrier.
Carrier went the distance, allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings while walking just one. His efficient outing gave the Pats the stability they needed after a high-scoring affair the day before.
Lincoln erased an early 3-0 deficit with a four-run second inning. Key singles from Smith, Robbins, and Hazlett helped swing the momentum, and the Pats added two more runs later to secure the win.
Hazlett led the offense, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Smith added two hits of his own. Lincoln tallied 10 hits as a team and turned two double plays defensively.
