The Kentucky Blood Center’s (KBC) “Summer of Saving” campaign continues into July with a tasty incentive for blood donors: a chance to win free Texas Roadhouse for a year.

Donors who give blood between July 1 and July 31 will be entered into a drawing for 52 $40 gift cards to Texas Roadhouse — one for each week of the year. Full rules and conditions for the giveaway can be found at kybloodcenter.org/events/summer-of-saving-win-free-texas-roadhouse-for-a-year.

Lincoln County residents will have a chance to participate during an upcoming local drive scheduled for Thursday, July 10, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church Fellowship Room, 213 E. Main St. in Stanford.

In addition to the giveaway, all presenting donors will receive a free appetizer coupon from Texas Roadhouse and a “Stay Peachy” T-shirt, while supplies last.

KBC officials are urging Kentuckians to donate during the summer, when blood donations typically decrease even as the need remains high. The center is offering incentives throughout the season to help ensure an adequate local blood supply.

Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in general good health, and show a photo ID. Sixteen-year-old donors must bring a signed permission slip, available at kybloodcenter.org.
