The Interior Journal is  proud to welcome Christopher Brown as the newest reporter covering Lincoln County. A passionate storyteller with strong ties to the area, Brown steps into the role with a deep appreciation for local journalism and the communities he now serves.

“I’ve always been drawn to stories — whether fiction, nonfiction, or the daily news,” Brown said. “Reading has been a constant passion in my life, and that naturally led to writing. When this opportunity came along, it felt like the right door at the right time.”

While his career has taken him across Kentucky, this is Brown’s first time reporting in his hometown — something he describes as both a professional milestone and a personal homecoming.

“It’s a rare gift to take a step forward while also returning to your roots,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud and excited to serve the community that raised me.”

Brown brings with him a diverse set of interests, including a deep love for basketball and a strong commitment to public safety coverage. He’s equally passionate about highlighting local events, small businesses, and the people behind them — the kinds of stories, he says, that reflect what makes a place special.

“To me, the heart of every great story is the people in it,” he said. “Whether it’s a high school athlete, a business owner, or someone overcoming a challenge, I want to capture their character and what drives them.”

His approach to journalism focuses on building connections — between readers, their neighbors, and the community at large.

“If even one story I write helps someone feel more invested in their town or more inspired to get involved,” Brown said, “then I’ve done my job.”

Readers can expect to see Brown’s bylines in upcoming issues of the Interior Journal.
