Jessie Wilson wins DYW Spirit Award

Jessie Wilson, Lincoln County’s Distinguished Young Woman (DYW) winner was named a winner of the Spirit Award at the conclusion of the 2019 Kentucky DYW program Saturday evening at the Singletary Center for the Arts in Lexington.
Wilson, who was presented the award by last year’s winner Marlene Michel, received a $1,000 scholarship with the award, which was voted on by fellow DYW participants.
Wilson was a co-winner of the award, with Katie Peyton of Morgan County also receiving a $1,000 scholarship.
Wilson, an LCHS seniors, spent the week in Lexington prior to the program preparing for the two-day competition. She was joined on stage during the self expression preliminary by her DYW Little Sister Brayli Maloy.
Riley Fort of Christian County won the 2019 Kentucky DYW title. Bella Wolfe of Woodford County was first runner-up, Cassidy Hook of Fayette County was second runner-up, Bryce Gooding of Montgomery County was third runner-up and Kelly Miles of Marion County was fourth runner-up.
