New pastor and family welcomed in Lincoln County

Joshua Shaddox had not planned to be a pastor, but God’s ways are much higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8). A native of Washington state, the young man joined the Army and became a paratrooper. His career took him to many places, including a tour in Iraq in 2005. During his tenure, Joshua learned about teaching and training and even served as an instructor and course manager among his various positions. God used his time in the military and educational opportunities to mold him for the calling he would receive.
In April 2011, Joshua was confronted with the reality of his life – playing church but not being a true believer and follower of Jesus Christ. On a small country highway in central Kentucky, Joshua surrendered his life to the call of the Master. He was baptized that Easter Sunday. Since that time, Joshua and his family have been on an unmistakable path towards ministry.
During his Army service, Joshua met a sweet Kentucky girl and after his tour in Iraq, the two were married on a secluded beach in Hawaii. Beverly faithfully followed her husband from duty station to duty station and shared in the joys and challenges of his career. They have four children between them and two wonderful grandchildren. With retirement on the horizon, the couple looked to Kentucky and after searching the surrounding area, settled in Lincoln County. God had brought them home.
Since retiring, Joshua has assisted in a variety of ministry needs supporting their local church. Along the way, God revealed to him a call to preach the Gospel. Joshua surrendered to that call in December and was affirmed as the pastor of thechurch@cedarcreek on January 6, 2019.
Thechurch@cedarcreek is a non-traditional fellowship of believers who seek authentic worship without the unbiblical trappings that distract from the real Gospel message. The church is located a quarter mile west of Cedar Creek Lake. Every Sunday we gather at 9:45 a.m. where a free hot breakfast is served before morning worship. Our community is always welcome! Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with music and sound biblical preaching. With a new year, we are planning several exciting events and welcome all to be a part of our exciting journey.
You are invited to come join us in welcoming our new pastor and his family.
