Rebecca Alice Phillippe Hansel, 72

Rebecca “Becky” Alice Phillippe Hansel, 72, Somerset, Ky., formerly of Lincoln County, passed away Saturday, March 23, at her residence. She was the wife of Troy P. Hansel whom she married July 25, 1981.

Rebecca was born in Stanford, on November 15, 1946, a daughter of the late Hayden and Winnie Victoria Ratliff Phillippe. She was a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church and a former bank teller for both First Southern National Bank and Community Trust Bank. Rebecca was a former co-owner of Heritage Crafts Fabric Shop in Mt. Vernon. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and an amazing big sister to her siblings.

Survivors include her husband, Troy P. Hansel; sons, Chris Woodard and wife Teresa and Rob Woodard and wife Carol; stepson, Scott Hansel and wife Angie; stepdaughter, Tina Hansel; four grandchildren, Samantha and husband Emanual Vickers, Jessica Reed, Aaron and wife Tasha Hansel, and Andrew Hansel; five great-grandchildren, Caprielle, Piper, Marshall, Ahri and Zach; one brother, Michael “Bud” Phillippe and wife Karen; four sisters, Sueann and husband Bobby Siler, Kathy and husband Curt Brock, Bonnie and husband Paul Purcell, and Rosemary and husband Bobby Maples; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her best friends, Ray and Vivian Randall.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial followed in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Chris and Rob Woodard, Kristi Brock Crawford, Samantha Woodard Vickers, Kevin Maples, Adam Hopkins and Aaron Hansel. Honorary pallbearers were Becky’s siblings.
