Press Release
STANFORD (Sept. 6) β At approximately 9:18 a.m. Friday morning, Lincoln County Middle School staff notified School Resource Officers a student was claiming they had a gun in their possession.
The subject was immediately detained and taken into custody without incident. There was no weapon found on the premises. The investigation is ongoing.
βLaw enforcement will continue extra patrols through the schools the rest of the day, but at this time we are confident the situation is safe,β Stanford Police Chief Zach Middleton said.
SRO investigated a separate threat Wednesday night involving a middle school student. That threat was deemed not credible and is not linked to this incident.
The school system will notify all stakeholders when more information becomes available.
