The Bethel AME Church will be having a prayer breakfast on January 18, beginning at 9 a.m. The breakfast will be followed by a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Antonio Stuckey of Cynthiana will be the guest preacher. The breakfast will start immediately after the morning worship. Donations of $10 will be much appreciated for the all-you-can-eat breakfast. Reverend Reginald Pullums is the pastor.

Monday, January 20 will be the Dr. Martin Luther King celebration starting at 12 noon at the Lincoln County Courthouse. There will be a brief ceremony in front of the courthouse and then a march on to the First Missionary Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Street, where Reverend Floyd Raglin is the pastor. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Phillip Yates, pastor of the Little Zion Baptist Church, Burgin. Mrs. Barthenia Brown is the coordinator and is asking for support of the community in this celebration.

The funeral for Mr. James “Buddy” Stewart, son of the late Mrs. Emma Stewart, was held last Wednesday at the Cedar Top Baptist Church in Wilmore.

The funeral service for Ms. Edith Logan will be held on Friday, January 17 at the Maple Street Baptist Church, Somerset at 11 a.m. The visitation will be on Thursday, January 16 from 5 to 8  p.m. in Danville at the Stith Funeral Home.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. James Vandiver. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Please continue to pray fro Mrs. Brenda Logan Cofer, who is a patient at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after having back surgery.

Mrs. Regina Williams and son, Mr. Dwight Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, spent two days a the home of Ms. Barthenia Brown. They also attended the funeral of her brother, Mr. James “Buddy” Stewart.
