Leroy Asbery

1939-2021

Leroy Asbery, 81, of Stanford passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Born August 29, 1939 in Casey County, he was the son of the late John Keith and Geraldine Vanoy Asbery.

Leroy was a farmer and the owner of Asbery Fencing.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Imogene Simpson Asbery; daughter, Deonica Dawn (Scott) Asbery of Lancaster; sons, David Scott (Kathy) Asbery of Illinois and Maurice Leroy Asbery of Hustonville; sisters, Wilma Jean Watson of OH and Joann Holt of Mt. Washington; nine grandchildren: Kadin Asbery, Cullen Asbery, Liam Asbery, Elliana Asbery, T.J. (Rhonda) Asbery, Kevin Asbery, Amanda (Russell) Jones, Abby Asbery, and John Robert Asbery; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Maverick Asbery and a brother, Garnett Ray Asbery.

Visitation is 6-9 pm, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral Service is 1 pm, Friday with Chaplain Jonathan Grizzell officiating. Burial is in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kevin Asbery, T.J. Asbery, Scotty Asbery, Abby Asbery, John Robert Asbery, Bart Woodrum, Liam Asbery, and Danny Smith.
