Ralston earns 2022 Snow Queen title

STANFORD – Following the “Christmas in Kentucky” parade in downtown Stanford, a crowd flocked to the Lincoln County Courthouse Steps to watch the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce crown a new Snow Queen.
Chloe Ralston, 19, was crowned the 2022 Snow Queen. She was deemed the top candidate out of a field of 45 ladies vying for the crown – the largest number of entries to date. Contestants were judged on their personal appearance, interview and poise.
Ralston, the daughter of Haley and Steve Ralston of Stanford and a senior at Lincoln County High School (LCHS), was sponsored by the LCHS Boys Basketball team and escorted by Trevor Bennett.
First runner-up in the contest was Gracie Gay, 16, daughter of Daniel and Amanda Gay. Her sponsor was the LCHS Volleyball Team and her escort was Carson Greer, son of Alex and Kristin Greer.
Katie Beth Smith, 17, sponsored by Morgan’s on Main, was named the second-runner up in the Snow Queen contest. Smith, the daughter of Hank and Laura Smith of Stanford, was escorted by Jack Bruner, son of John and Beth Bruner of Science Hill.
Third runner-up was Bae Bae Smith, 17, daughter of Kenny and Tammy Smith of Stanford. Smith was sponsored by Kenny’s Pulling Parts & Machine.
Dani Story, 16, sponsored by the LCHS Future Business Leaders of America, was fourth runner-up. Story, the daughter of Dan and Stacy Story of Stanford, was escorted by Connor Sparr, son of Jordan and Ashley Sparr of Stanford.
There were five honorable mentions this year, including:
• Alayna Bodner, 16, sponsored by Bates, Miller & Sims, daughter of Ashley and Berek Bodner and escorted by Keaton Pendleton, son of Alissa and Phil Pendleton;
• Lindsay Jade Bryant, 15, sponsored by Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy, daughter of Mark and Kelley Bryant and escorted by Tanner Ramsey, son of Andy and Kim Powell;
• Isabelle Roach, 17, sponsored by LCHS Counselors, daughter of Brittney Broom and escorted by Timothy Baker, son of Luci and Jason Smith.
• Kaitlyn Yocum, 15, sponsored by and daughter of Keith and Becky Yocum and escorted by Gavin Douglas, son of Dennis and Tina Douglas; and
