Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Walls, 77, of McKinney, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023. Born on May 15, 1946 in McKinney to the late Herman and Luna Williams Walls, Jerry graduated from McKinney High School in 1965.

A devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend, Jerry loved his family dearly. His joy was found in the simple moments, whether it was playing golf with his friends or spending time with his loved ones. Jerry served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and continued his service as the former Honor Guard Commander of Post 345 for many years. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career in retail sales. His passion for people was evident in his role as the district dealer at Townecraft, where he was much loved and respected. A man of deep faith, Jerry was a dedicated member of the Redemption Road Church in Danville.

Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Johnson Walls, of McKinney; two daughters, Rachael Walls of Moreland, and Cheryl Blanton (Josh) of Crab Orchard, ; three siblings, Ronnie Walls (Patricia), Bonnie Rose Yocum and Vickie Diane Falconbury; two grandchildren, Jacob Blanton and Ava Blanton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Luna Walls; and three sisters, Joyce Yocum, Thelma Jean Frederick and Brenda Carol Walls (Infant).

Services were held Dec. 9 at Redemption Road Church with Rev. Gary Yocom officiating. Interment followed at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.

Active pallbearers were Ersel Brown, Doug Wahl, Ronnie Gipson, Jackie Taylor, Jeff Frederick, Garland Frederick, Ronnie Yocum and Randy Yocum.

Honorary pallbearers were Danny Reed, Linda Brown, Kevin Carrier, Chuck Barnes and his special buddies, Bobby and Joey Hodge.

The family would like to thank the V.A. Hospital staff in Lexington, and two special ladies, Jennifer and Sue, who have helped with Jerry for the last six months.
