Meet Team Lincoln is an ongoing series introducing people to different members of Lincoln County Schools. This Q&A features Heather Mullins.
Where do you work? What do you do there?
I teach 2nd grade at Highland.
- What is your favorite thing about your school?
I love all of the kids! Since we are a small school, I know them all by name and have watched our older kids grow up. I also love my coworkers. We are like a little family.
- How do you spend your free time?
If I am not at one of my kids ball games, I love to be outside doing anything. I love swimming, going for walks, and laughing with my family and friends.
- What is your favorite food?
Mexican
- What is the best book you’ve ever read?
The Bible
- What is your favorite movie?
The Blindside. I love the story of how every child deserves someone to love them and believe in them. And who doesn’t love a good football movie??
- If you could pick one place to visit on vacation, where would it be?
I would pick anywhere hot by the ocean.
- Who was your favorite teacher growing up?
Ann Long. She was my first grade teacher. I have no idea what I learned academically but I do remember how much she loved us all and made us feel special. She made me love school.
- What is your favorite team?
My favorite team is any team my kids are playing on.
- If you could make one rule in life, that everyone had to follow, what would it be?
My rule would be “Don’t be a selfish person.” I think so many of our problems today are caused by selfish people who only care about themselves.
- Do you wear red on Friday?
Yes unless I am wearing maroon to support my Aviators or my football colonel at EKU.
