The Lincoln County Conservation District is accepting applications for cost share funding under the Kentucky Erosion and Water Quality Cost Share Program on a continuous basis.
The State Cost Share program was created to help agricultural operations protect the soil and water resources of Kentucky. This program provides financial assistance to agricultural producers to install agricultural best management practices (BMPs). These practices are designed to maximize natural resource protraction while allowing farming operations to continue and often improve, as a result of their installation. The program offers 75% reimbursement of best management practice installation costs for eligible practices, not to exceed $20,000 per application. Some practices that you can apply for are heavy use areas, exclusion practices from water bodies, cattle watering systems, practices for rotational grazing, winter feeding area, just to name a few of the best management practices to apply for.
Applications are ranked and approved by the Kentucky Soil and Water Commission on a statewide basis. Please contact the Lincoln County Conservation Office if you are interested in making an application for this program and for more information. You can contact the local conservation district office by calling 606-365-2214 Extension 6044, or by visiting the Lincoln County Conservation District located in the Natural Resources Conservation office located at 102 Meter Trail, Suite 2, Stanford, Kentucky.
