Graduates of the Somerset Community College Surgical Technology Program for 2017 achieved a 100-percent first-attempt pass rate on the national certification examination, according to Surgical Technology program coordinator Tammy Watters.
“This class has worked very hard throughout the year and I can’t say enough about how proud I am of them,” said Watters.
The class also participated in several community service events including donations to Bethany House, Gods Food Pantry and the local PRIDE spring clean along Monticello Street. Graduate Jennifer Hernandez participated in an international mission trip to Guatemala with local surgeon Dr. Mark Henry of Somerset, and Michael Cook and Jason Radliff were inducted into the Association of Surgical Technologist National Honor Society.
