Nurses attending training
The Lincoln County Health Department will not have nurses on duty Thursday, May 31 and Tuesday, June 5. All health department nurses will be attending a mandatory training.
Heritage Hospice cookbook
Heritage Hospice Volunteer Department is having a cookbook sale through the month of June. “Stirring Up Memories – Both Past and Present” contains over 440 recipes that have all been tested twice before they met our standards for publication. Along with informative and helpful sidebars, there are also recipes from Bed & Breakfasts and Businesses. Cookbooks are $15 each and all proceeds support the special works of Heritage Hospice, Inc. Cookbooks may be purchased at the Heritage Hospice office, 120 Enterprise Drive, Danville or call (859) 236-2425 to inquire further.
LCHS Class of 1978 Reunion
Lincoln County High School Class of 1978 will hold its 40th class reunion on Saturday, June 23 from 6 to 12 p.m. at Back Porch Club House, 2220 Hwy. 27 North. $25 per person. Must RSVP by Tuesday, June 19. For more information contact: Sherry Moore Facebook or Curtis Young Facebook.

Rabies Clinics
The Lincoln County Rabies Vaccination Clinics have been scheduled for the following dates: Monday, June 4 – Waynesburg Elementary School 10-11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, June 6 – Crab Orchard Elementary School 10-11:30 a.m.; Friday, June 8 – Hustonville Elementary School 10-11:30 a.m.; Friday, June 8 – Lincoln County High School 6:30- 8 p.m. For additional information, contact the Lincoln County Health Department at (606) 365-3106, The Animal Care Center at (606) 365-7660 or Stanford Veterinary Hospital at (606) 365-0911. The vaccination fee will be $5 per domestic animal.
Second annual
youth fishing derby
The second annual William “Bill” Martin Youth Fishing Derby will be held Saturday, June 9 at Logan Hubble Park from 9 a.m. to noon. Please bring your poles and fishing bait. Prizes will be given to each participant 15 and under. Anyone 16 or over will need a fishing license. Heavy rain and storms cancel this event.
LC Historical Society to meet
The Lincoln County Historical Society will meet Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library (upstairs). The program/exhibition is of “How sports shaped America”. Hometown Teams exhibition organized by Smithsonian Institution, Kentucky Humanities Council and Kentucky Transportation Department. The board meeting will be at 6 p.m. in Community Room 2. Light refreshments will be served. Bring a friend!
Sports Film Screening
Sports Film Screening at the Lincoln County Public Library, Tuesday, June 12 at 5 p.m. Watch a movie about a famous racehorse. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. This is free and open to the public. For more information call the library (606) 365-7513.

Miss Basketball to share
Kentucky’s first Miss Basketball, Donna L. J. Murphy, will share her historical perspective of Kentucky high school girls’ basketball including personal experiences, Thursday, May 31 at 6 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library.

Teen Cooking Camp June 4 – 6 from 1 – 2 p.m. Teens (ages 13-18) get ready to cook up some delicious recipes this summer at the Lincoln County Public Library. Adolph Rupp
Kentucky Chautauqua: Adolph Rupp on Thursday, June 7 at 6 p.m. During the 42 years he coached the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team, Adolph Rupp raised the game to near-religious status in the Commonwealth. Rupp’s teams won 880 games, four national championships, and one Olympic gold medal.
