LC Prom set for April 15
The Lincoln County Prom will be held Saturday, April 15. The Youth Services Center is looking for prom dresses, shoes, and jewelry to help make sure every young lady has a magical time at the prom. Please call the Lincoln County Chamber for questions or for pick up at (606) 365-4118.

Zentangle 101: Third Thursday of every month, 10 a.m. to noon. A different Zentangle project will be instructed step by step. Beginners and experts are welcome to attend. The Zentangle Method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Call the library to register (365-7513).

Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference: Saturday, Jan. 21- Noon to 2 p.m. Explore Tech is a national traveling exhibition that introduces the role engineers play in our lives. The exhibit features hands-on and multimedia components that allow exhibit visitors to interact with exhibit content in a dynamic way, encouraging new perspectives about engineers and their vital work. Be one of the first to see the exhibit and join in on some fun hands-on activities. Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference is part of the STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) led by the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute. Exhibit partners include the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and Afterschool Alliance. Explore Tech is supported through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
Early Childhood Science Festival: Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. Interactive stations will be provided to captivate your young learners to explore science, technology, engineering, and math.  
Pushing the Limits: Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. Unleash your mind. Explore and get involved in ideas about nature, connections, survival and knowledge. This new series brings together books and videos featuring authors, scientists, and everyday people who thrive on exploring the natural world. (Nature: Jan. 26 – featured title “When the Killing’s Done by T. C. Boyle; Survival: Feb. 28 – featured title Arctic Drift by Clive Cussler.) 
Artful Action Figures: Saturday, Feb. 4 at 12 p.m. Presented by The Living Arts and Science Center, learn to construct a small, bendable figurine, then put your creative, problem-solving powers into action as you form clothing, costumes, and accessories.
Energy in Motion: Saturday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. Presented by The Living Arts and Science Center, explore energy on the move in the library! This program features a variety of hands-on experiments and interactive activities based on energy and the food chain, the transformation of energy, circuits, renewable vs. nonrenewable energy sources and much more! 
Fun with Science: Saturday, Feb. 18 at 12 p.m. Presented by Dr. Jeff Fieberg, Chemistry professor from Centre College. Bring the entire family to see these amazing science demonstrations! 

Blood drive in Stanford
Blood donations are the ultimate renewable resource, and area residents are invited to recycle life at the upcoming blood drive. The blood drive is set for Thursday, Jan. 19 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the fellowship room at the Stanford Presbyterian Church, 213 East Main Street. Blood donors must be 17-years-old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Sixteen-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found at kybloodcenter.org. For more information, call 800-755-2522.

Lions Club monthly meetings
The Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays every month at the Lincoln County Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend and are invited to join the Lions Club.  LC Health Department to hold
free smoking cessation class
The Lincoln County Health Department is offering the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking program beginning Tuesday, Jan. 24. This is a free 8-week smoking cessation class that is open to anyone living or working in Lincoln County. The nicotine patch will be provided free as well. Classes will start at 5 p.m. at the health department. Registration is required by calling Lee Ann Taylor at the Lincoln County Health Department at (606) 365-3106. You can be a non-smoker!
