Fort Logan Preschool students of Ms. Valerie Day and Ms. Gina Mullins enjoyed a recent walk in their community. The students, accompanied by parent volunteer Bridgett Cook, learned that, at one time, the path they walked along was a track for the train that came through town. The first stop was at the caboose at the L & N Railroad Depot, followed by a stop at the Lincoln County Public Library where they heard a story from Ms. Amanda Wheeler and met Mr. Hedgehog. On the return trip to their classroom, Mr. Gary Carter was kind enough to stop along his route to have a show-and-tell about being a mailman. After talking to the students, Mr. Gary stopped to have his picture made with the class. Ms. Valerie and Ms. Gina used the walk as a culminating activity for the students’ study of Community Helpers.
