The Lincoln County Public Schools Department of School Nutrition Services will once again provide free summer meals to local children and teens as part of the federally funded Summer Feeding Service Program (SFSP).

The program offers no-cost meal packs to anyone under the age of 18 during weeks when school is not in session. Children one year of age and younger are not eligible. Participants do not need to be enrolled in Lincoln County Schools or have family members who are students to receive the meals.

Each meal pack includes seven breakfast meals and seven lunch meals. Distribution will take place at Lincoln County High School from 4 to 6 p.m. on the following dates: Wednesday, June 11; Wednesday, June 18; and Wednesday, June 25. Organizers note that students attending summer school do not qualify for the 7-day meal packs.

To help school officials plan accordingly, families are encouraged to complete a Google form available via QR code. This step allows the district to prepare the appropriate number and type of meal packs.

In addition to the standard full meal packs, the district will also offer breakfast-only and lunch-only options to better serve families with varying needs and schedules.

This initiative also ensures compliance with federal regulations, particularly regarding the duplication of meals, which is closely monitored.

For more information or to access the form, families are encouraged to visit the school district’s website or contact the Department of School Nutrition Services.
