Bastin competes in state DYW contest

Tinsley Bastin represented Lincoln County as she competed in the 2022 state Distinguished Young Women contest Friday and Saturday.
Tinsley is the daughter of Jim and Amy Bastin and resides in Stanford. She plans to attend college and become a pediatric psychologist. She won a preliminary fitness award and earned a $300 scholarship to be used for her college education. She plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University.
Distinguished Young Women of Kentucky is part of a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership, and talent in young women.
College scholarships are awarded at the state level ($26,750 last year) and millions in college-granted scholarships are available ($1 billion nationally). And one representative will advance to the national program in Mobile, Alabama where they give away over $130,000 in cash tuition scholarships.
